Company Profile

The Production Organisation (POs) Agricultural Cooperative Velvento DIMITRA was established in 1987. The Cooperatives charter conforms with N.2810/2000. The cooperative has 410 members of which 110 are fully active whose peach orchards cover 1450 hectares and 350 hectares of nectarines, 130 hectares of apples and a few hectares of plums, quince and kiwi, yielding 3700 tons of peaches, 600 tons of nectarines, 350 tons of apples and small quantities of the remaining fruit varieties. More than 60% of all peaches and nectarines are exported, while smaller quantities are exported of the rest.

The POs Agricultural Cooperative Velvento DIMITRA consists of 410 members, who reside in the municipality of Velvento. In accordance to the charter all members must submit 100% of their harvest to the cooperative. The cooperative share value is 146.74 Euro for both existing and new members.

Today Dimitra Coop has modern facilities and controlled environment refrigeration compartments, advanced automated systems and equipment which process over 4000 tons of fruit annually to domestic and foreign markets. Specifically:

A building complex at Velveto, built on a 11,400 m2 plot owned by the Coop. The total covered area is 2,900 m2
7 refrigeration compartments totaling 850 m2 with a 900 ton capacity
fruit sorting and packaging division with conveyer belts and electronic sorting equipment with a capacity of 5 tons/hour
a fruit packaging line with a capacity of 2,300 kg/hour
1,350 m2 storehouse
offices and logistic facilities
a 70 ton bridge which covers 205 m2
two engine rooms with a total of 150 m2
electronic pallet binder
2 electric clark and 2 diesel vehicles
